Let’s work on building those scenes, shall we? Here are three prompts to get started:
Your main character’s been betrayed. Set the scene. What do they see? What do they smell? How does their body react?
Use your five senses to make the betrayal come to life.
Set a timer for 10 minutes and write down everything you know about one of the main locations in your story.
Go back and check your location description. Do you think the reader sees it like you do? If not, fix it!
Pretend like you’re a friend or a family member entering your home for the first time.
Describe it from their point of view. Be very detailed. Include that crack in the ceiling or the faded photo taped to the fridge. Bring it to life.
